Prague Spring International Music Festival
This music festival was born in 1946 and is held every year. The festival always starts at the 12th of May, the anniversary of the death of the famous Czech composer Bedřich Smetana. During the opening of the festival the symphonic poems Má Vlast of Smetana are performed. The festival always ends with the 9th symphony of Beethoven. At various concert halls in the city you can attend the best classical music concerts. One of the best places is the Rudolfinum.

Febiofest
The Febiofest is one of the top events in Prague you shouldn’t miss, especially if you are a film fan. Febiofest is a film festival with a varied program, including feature films, documentaries, and experimental films. Film directors from all over the world come to show their work in Prague. The films are shown in 14 different cinemas in the city.

In Prague every year is held one of world’s most prestigious international book fairs, Bookworld. Prague Writers’ Festival
The Prague Writers’ Festival is an outstanding cultural event in Prague. The most notable writers from all over the world gather in Prague during this festival. Here you will have the opportunity to meet your favorite writers and listen to their lectures. New books will be presented or you can attend discussions or film screenings.

Days of European Film Festival
In 2010 the 17th edition of this film festival will be held. The best and most interesting European films are shown at this festival. Many European film directors will be present during the screening of their films, so afterwards you can ask questions about the film. The films are shown in cinema Lucerna and Cinema Světozor.
